Peter Manchester’s Guide to Tasmanian Fossils
Compiled over the past three years from a lifetime of research, Peter Manchester’s Guide to Tasmanian Fossils is an essential addition to Tasmanian geological history for the advanced layperson and professional alike.
This is an entirely unique addition to the field – there has never before been a book written entirely on Tasmanian fossils. With over 900 illustrations for exacting observations and identifications, it has been divided for ease of use into a catalogue of phyla in photographic form. Other chapters include Tasmanian palaeontogical history, possible sites, and new recent discoveries.
Peter Manchester is the author of the now sold-out Created from Chaos: 100 geological sites in Tasmania. Peter is a much sought after lecturer and educator in geology, geo-tourism, mineralogy and lecturers on topics as various as scientific toys, inventions, meteorites and orchid growing.
The book will be launched by Ross Large, Distinguished Professor of Geology (University of Tasmania). Ross is internationally renowned for his research related to metallic mineral deposits.
