What is a Dot? A Picture Book Workshop
Fullers Bookshop, 131 Collins Street, Hobart, TAS 7000 with Johanna Bell and Amelia Luscombe What…
A week-long, worldwide celebration of independent bookshops and those who love them. Readers, writers, and booksellers join forces for one week to create a tapestry of neighbourhood strolls and bookishly unique encounters. Come for the books. Stay for the magic.
From the 21-27 April, each city or region curates its crawl: a self-guided route through independent bookshops. The heart of the Global Book Crawl is the joy of discovery: wandering through bookstores, getting lost in conversations, and finding titles you didn’t know you needed. Get your passport stamped. Join the movement. To participate here, get a stamp from:
Fullers Bookshop
Hobart Bookshop
Dymocks Hobart
Cracked and Spineless
Once your passport is complete, hand it in at your last stop to go in the Hobart draw to win 10 Penguin Random House books*
Take part in your city, share your journey online, and connect with fellow book lovers around the world.
Share your photos and posts with the hashtag #GlobalBookCrawl and #GlobalBookCrawlHobart to enter a global and local conversation happening in dozens of cities. (And go into the draw to win prizes…!)
It starts with a visit. It becomes a story. Pick up your passport and start the journey.
In 2024, Hobart was designated a UNESCO City of Literature. Our small southernmost capital city supports a huge number of talented writers, voracious and curious readers, and a wonderful culture of independent bookselling. We are delighted to offer a local Hobart bookshop crawl as part of the brand new Global Book Crawl movement.
Collect a blank passport from any of the four participating local bookshops, and get a stamp from each of us over the week. Prizes to be won for completing the crawl!
*pricing is capped
