It is a good time to write about Tasmanian geology. Many previous uncertainties have been clarified by research and field studies. The age and origin of our Precambrian rocks is now reasonably well known, and we can boast a close association with North America in that early period.
The puzzle of there being two apparent groups of Precambrian rocks has been solved, and Tasmania’s place in the supercontinent Gondwana has been clarified.
Child of Gondwana will be launched by former writer/editor of 40° South, Warren Boyles.
